Right-click the downloaded file and select "Extract All" (Windows) or double-click to extract (Mac). Remember where you extracted it.
In Chrome, go to chrome://extensions or click the menu → Extensions → Manage Extensions.
Toggle the "Developer mode" switch in the top-right corner of the extensions page.
Click "Load unpacked" and select the extracted folder from your Downloads.
Chrome may show a warning about developer mode extensions. This is normal for self-hosted extensions. The extension is safe to use and your data is protected.
